Neonatal Intensive Care Unit provides necessary support for all babies requiring intensive care. Babies are brought together with families using modern medical equipment based on up-to-date information and necessary resources are supplied for information and education.

In Neonatal Intensive Care Unit, advanced care is provided to newborns with high risks such as preterm delivery, multiple pregnancies, maternal diabetes, macrosomia, meconium aspiration syndrome, damage of brain and other organs due to difficult delivery, starting at gestational age of 24 weeks. Neonatal intensive care unit, which provides all necessary medical and surgical services to our infant patients, renders healthcare service not only for newborn infants that are already staying in our hospital, but also other newborns requiring intensive care all over Turkey and at neighboring countries. Therefore, we cooperate with air and ground ambulance systems.

Respiratory support (ventilator therapy), blood exchange, phototherapy, percutaneous catheter insertion (a thin tube extending from thin vessels of arm and leg to the heart), total parenteral nutrition (nutrition through intravenous line), placement of chest tube (treatment for air entrapment in the lung), bedside EEG, bedside echocardiography, bed-side ultrasound (ultrasound scan to examine brain and other visceral organs), and retinopathy examination (eye exam for preterm babies) are carried out at the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit.
